I am showing you the progress of this drawing, to show how drawings evolve... I will preserve these images as time goes by into snapshots for later viewing. Normally i do not use pencil to do an underying sketch. But since this drawing is 3x bigger than normal I do want it to have longevity. In this case I am able to keep it moving because I can actually erase. Also, the underlying pencil can let me show you the initial ideas. |

Imagination & References To Alphonse Mucha |
Comments: |

Alphonse Mucha is one my all time favorite artists. He married the grace and beauty of the female form with rigid geometric forms. The sum is always greater than the parts in his work. Anyway, the idea for this drawing orignally was to create a female destructive presence, but then gradually evolved into the opposite, or a female creator. And since females *create life*, I just changed the creation to the creation of everything. Any textbook, painting, drawing, sculpture or notion that indicates a male presence as the creator of life is dead wrong. I am not saying the female *is* the creator, but male is definately not. Males create things. Females create people. This spark is not the spark of ingenuity or of a new object, but rather the spark of life. In case you were wondering, in the background of the inner circle is going to be a tessellation, and the grid is going away. i don't know what scenes will appear in the background. |

A drawing I actually started in 2006, but finished this year. I am not entirely happy with it, but I am less upset when i remember that there were no pencil sketches in this drawing, the whole thing was drawn in real-time with sharpies that bleed. That means that any errors I made could not be erased. With this in mind, I am much happier with how it turned out. |

One of the first attempts at felt pen color. At 8 colors its fairly hard to make anything out of it, but i refuse to give up! Despite the other few color pictures in 2005, this represents the real beginning of my color experiments, hopefully being the final step in developing my themes. |

I think there is a lot more going on that we can't see inside the unfathomably small extra dimensions described by String/M-theory. Since, as predicted since the birth of Quantum Physics that these extra spatial dimensions are so small we cannot even measure them, the world is an open book in terms of just what they are, and what goes on inside them. The Calabi-Yau Manifold was the best mathematical shape to represent a 6-dimensional structure. What you are seeing here is what String Theorists think is the origin point of the calabi-yau manifold. They think each point in a 3 dimensional structure is the insertion point for these hidden dimensions. This is meant to represent the entryway from the point into the manifold. |

Mighy Hoshizaku led his armies in Japan in the 4th century, conquering all who stood in his way. His rule was so absolute and long-lasting that Japanese culture was forever change by his beliefs and laws. Hoshizaku died of natural causes in the year 388, and his son took his place at the throne. |

The first official drawing with the four dimensional theme. Based on a Discover article about an 11-sided symmetrical polytope, this is the beginning of my obsession with 4 dimensional shapes. |

Inspired by a world ball drawing in 2001, this was the first in a series of self-defining drawings. These drawings, as they evolve create a complex set of rules which are defined through its own construction. Each is unique. |
